‘National Viral Hepatitis Control Program’ was launched on 28th July, 2018 on the occasion of World Hepatitis Day by the hon’ble HFM with the aim to to combat hepatitis and achieve countrywide elimination of Hepatitis C by 2030, achieve significant reduction in the infected population, morbidity and mortality associated with Hepatitis A,B, C and E.
The three guidelines released during the event include:
1)Operational Guidelines-National Viral Hepatitis Control Program
2)National guidelines for Diagnosis and management of viral hepatitis
3)National laboratory guidelines for testing of viral hepatitis
Department of post has come out with a commemorative postage stamp which was released on the launch event as an effective medium for spreading awareness about viral hepatitis in the public.
